WENDY WILLIAMS NOVEL TITLE CONTEST

This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Twitter. You understand that you are providing your information to HarperCollins and Shortstack (for voting only) and not to Facebook or Twitter.

ELIGIBILITY

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, tweet your proposed title for Wendy Williams’ new novel using hashtag #wendytitle and follow “@avonbooks” on Twitter. A description of the novel is below. The title submitted must also satisfy the following requirements:

• No profanity or graphic language

• Must not be a title used on a recently published work or in connection any film, television program or other creative work.

LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER PERSON. Multiple entries from the same Twitter account and single entries from multiple Twitter accounts held by the entrant are automatically disqualified. In the event that the same title is submitted by more than one Entrant, only the first eligible entry submitted will be consider. All subsequent ones will be disqualified.If an entrant does not follow @avonbooks, HarperCollins will have no means to contact the entrant and the entry will be disqualified.

The Contest is open to all legal residents of the United States who have reached the age of majority in their state of residence, excluding employees and immediate family members of HarperCollins and Talk WW Production, Inc. d/b/a The Wendy Williams Show, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, assigns, advertising, promotional and fulfillment agents, attorneys, and other representatives and the persons with whom each of the above are domiciled. Offer void outside the United States and wherever prohibited or restricted by law.

Each entrant in the Contest must be the rightful owner or have authorized use of the Twitter account used for submitting the entry. In the event of a dispute concerning the identity of the holder of the Twitter account, the holder will be deemed to be the person who owns the email address that was used to register the Twitter account. The e-mail account must be opened prior to 9:00 a.m. (EST) September 30, 2013.

ENTRY PERIOD

The Contest will commence on September 30,2013 at 9:00 a.m. (ET). The last entry will be received on October 6, 2013 at 9:00 p.m.. (ET).

SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS

Round One: a panel of judges selectedby HarperCollins will select five finalists from among the eligible entries that best reflect the summary above and we believe will have the most commercial appeal to consumers. HarperCollins will contact the five finalists by direct messaging on Twitter by October 10, 2013. If HarperCollins does not receive a response within 24 hours, it reserves the right to select an alternate finalist. The finalists will be required to provide additional contact information.

Round Two: Public voting will begin on October 15, 2013 (9 a.m. ET) and end on October 21, 2013 (5:00 p.m. ET) on Wendy Williams’ Facebook page (the “Voting Page”).A “unique voter” may vote only once. Entrants may vote for their own entry. The entry with the most votes will be determined the winner. In the event of a tie, a panel of judges consisting of Wendy Williams and HarperCollins Publishers employees will determine the finalist based on the criteria applied in Round One. Judges’ decisions are final, binding and conclusive on all matters related to the Contest.

For purposes of the Contest, a "vote" means a vote cast on the Voting Page, by a "unique voter." A "unique voter" is an individual person (a) who has registered on the Voting Page Website and (b) with unique registration information (i.e., email address) that is not duplicative of another voter. A unique voter may vote no more than once. If HarperCollins determines, in its sole discretion, that an abuse of the "unique voter" rule has occurred, HarperCollins may disqualify votes cast by such voters or contestants, including if more than 5 of such voters or contestants registered from the same computer "IP address". For example, any use of micro, automatic, programmed, robotic, or like voting methods will void all such votes by such methods will be disqualified.

HarperCollins has entered into a license agreement with Pancake Laboratories, Inc. for HarperCollins’ use of the Shortstack.com promotions application in connection with the administration of the voting feature of the Contest. Shortstack.com may store your personally identifiable information in accordance with its privacy policy, which may be found at: http://www.shortstack.com/privacy/.

The potential Grand Prize Winner will be notified by email by October 23, 2013 and required to execute, notarize and return an Affidavit of Eligibility (the “Affidavit”) within 72 hours of notification. If the potential Grand Prize Winner is not an adult, the Affidavit must be executed by his/her parent or legal guardian. If a potential Grand Prize Winner does not return the Affidavit as required, the Finalist with the second highest vote total will be deemed the alternate potential Grand Prize Winner.

The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on Wendy William’s Facebook Page on or about October 30, 2013.

PRIZES

The Grand Prize: The Grand Prize Winner will have his or her name used for a character in the novel. In addition, HarperCollins reserves the right to use the Grand Prize Winner’s title as the title for Wendy Williams’ novel but shall have no obligation to do so. The use of the name for a character and the title for the novel has no monetary value.

The Grand Prize Winner and Other Finalists will each receive a signed copy of the novel. Approximate retail $14.99: Approximate retail value of all prizes: $74.95

All prizes will be awarded, provided there are as many entries as prizes. Only one prize will be awarded per individual, family, or household. All prizes are non-transferable and cannot be sold or redeemed for cash. In the event that HarperCollins decides not to publish the Wendy Williams’ novel, the Grand Prize Winner will receive a cash payment of $50 and the other Finalists will receive a cash payment of $30 each.

CONDITIONS

By participating, entrants affirm that they have read these Official Rules, agree to be bound by them and the selection of the winners, which shall be final, and waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Contest and/or these Official Rules. All federal, state and local tax liabilities arising from this Contest will be the sole responsibility of the winner. Acceptance of prizes constitutes permission to use the winner's name, entry, likeness, biography, and prize won for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation, except where prohibited or restricted by law. In addition, the Grand Prize Winner grants HarperCollins the exclusive right to use his/her name for a character in the novel and entry as a book title without any additional consideration.

The entrants release, discharge, and hold harmless Talk WW Production, Inc., Wendy Williams, individually, HarperCollins, Twitter and Facebook and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, assigns, attorneys, representatives and agents, including advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies, from any and all liability or damages arising from the administration of the Contest and the use or misuse of any prize received in this Contest, including, without limitation, the following: (i) late, lost, incomplete, delayed, misdirected or unintelligible entries, (ii) any printing, typographical, administrative or technological errors in any materials associated with the Contest, and (iii) any damage to the entrant's computer, related equipment, data files, and software resulting from entrant's downloading of information regarding the Contest or participation in the Contest.

HarperCollins may only use the personally identifiable information obtained from the entrants in accordance with its privacy policy, which may be found at www.harpercollins.com.

HarperCollins reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend this Contest should a virus, bug, computer problem or other causes beyond HarperCollins's control corrupt the administration, security or proper operation of the Contest. HarperCollins may prohibit you from participating in the Contest or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that you are attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking or employing other unfair practices or by abusing other entrants or the representatives of HarperCollins.

ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND, IN SUCH EVENT, HARPERCOLLINS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO PURSUE ITS REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING COSTS AND ATTORNEY'S FEES) TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW.

Any dispute arising from the Contest will be determined according to the laws of the State of New York, without reference to its conflict of laws principles, and the entrants consent to the personal jurisdiction of the State and Federal Courts located in the State and County of New York over them and agree that such courts have exclusive jurisdiction over all such disputes.
